Social Concerns...

"For I was hungry and you fed me; I was thirsty and you gave me water; I was a stranger and you invited me into your homes; naked and you clothed me; sick and in prison, and you visited me."  Matthew 25:35

The purpose of the Social Concerns Group is to help those less fortunate than ourselves, which include those from the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish community and the local community.

Regular meetings are held the second Thursday of the month (except for summer months). Volunteers, who are unable to attend regular meetings, are contacted by telephone when we have events that require assistance. The time required for various events is usually a few hours spent not only doing good deeds, but having fun.

In addition to on-going food collections, special drives take place during the year:

•  Food during Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter

•  Blankets/Coats

•  Baby Supplies

•  School Supplies

•  Christmas Gifts

•  "Souper" Bowl Sunday

During these drives, help is needed to sort, pack and deliver the items. It requires several hours of charity work that allows an opportunity to meet, mingle and have fun!
